Car Accidents in Charlotte, North Carolina
Car accidents on busy roadways like Interstate 485 are common in the Charlotte area. The city’s expanding population and high commuter traffic make highways such as I-485, I-77, and I-85 especially prone to congestion-related crashes. Even a brief lapse in attention or a moment of speeding can lead to serious collisions that cause severe injuries or fatalities.
According to data from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Mecklenburg County consistently reports one of the highest numbers of traffic crashes in the state each year. Many of these crashes involve rear-end collisions, lane changes, and multi-vehicle pileups during peak travel times. When serious injuries occur, victims often face not only medical recovery but also financial strain from lost wages and mounting expenses.
In cases where another driver’s negligence causes an accident, injured victims may be entitled to compensation. This can include payment for medical bills, rehabilitation, lost income, pain and suffering, and vehicle repairs. Families who lose loved ones in fatal crashes may also pursue wrongful death claims to help cover funeral costs and future financial support.
