Belmont, NC (October 30, 2025) – A serious crash caused major traffic delays on Tuesday, October 28, on Interstate 85 northbound near Exit 27 in Gaston County.
According to the Belmont Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the collision occurred near Beatty Drive. It forced the closure of all northbound lanes shortly before 4 p.m. Emergency crews worked for several hours to clear the scene, and all lanes were reopened by 6:35 p.m.
