Fatal Car Accidents in Florence County, South Carolina
Tragic car accidents like the one reported on West New Hope Road in Florence County are a sobering reminder of the risks that come with motor vehicle travel, especially in rural parts of South Carolina. According to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, hundreds of people lose their lives in traffic crashes each year across the state, with many of those occurring in single-vehicle collisions where a driver loses control and runs off the road. These incidents are often linked to speed, impaired driving, distracted driving, or road conditions.
In the aftermath of a fatal crash, surviving family members are often left with overwhelming grief as well as financial burdens, especially when the deceased was a primary provider. In such cases, a wrongful death claim may be pursued to recover damages such as funeral costs, medical expenses, loss of income, and loss of companionship. Even in non-fatal crashes, injured survivors may face a long road to recovery that includes mounting hospital bills, physical rehabilitation, and missed work.
