Willow Springs, NC (November 13, 2025) – A tragic crash occurred Thursday morning, November 13, involving a motorcyclist and a Wake County school bus. The incident happened around 6:30 AM at the intersection of Kennebec Road and Bud Lipscomb Road.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol reports that the motorcycle, driven by 22-year-old Michael Jones of Hope Springs, was heading north on Kennebec when it collided with a Wake County Public School System bus. The bus was traveling in the opposite direction and was turning left onto Bud Lipscomb Rd at the time of the crash.
Willow Springs High School confirmed that the bus involved was one of theirs, but no students were on board at the time of the incident. Unfortunately, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet filed any charges, and the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
